Watercolors

I haven't touched water colors since I was a kid, but Korean water colors and the paintbox I had as a kid are totally different. In Korean/Chinese water colors, some of the pigments are transparent while others are opaque. Never thought there was a difference until I took an afternoon introduction to Korean painting class, and I could seriously get hooked on the earthy medium. I especially like the simplicity of colors with the strong or diluted use of Chinese/India ink for getting contrasts. After taking the class about a year ago (about a month after an introduction to Korean calligraphy) I went out and bought Chinese ink and some paints. Still haven't used them ... but keep telling myself I'll grab a corner of time and do so. Their unused presence in my house haunts me.
